Error 0x170019

Thread needs solution

On my backup of one of the OneDrive folders for Nas, I am getting this error line Error 0x170019-The item was ignored.

What is this mistake?

My recollection is that ATI does not allow the backing up of OneDrive in either disks and partitions or File and folders backups. If you have a subscription including Acronis Cloud they can be backed up directly from the Microsoft server to the Acronis Cloud.

However, the User Guide is a little ambiguous; it says it is possible to exclude from backup tasks folders that are backed up in the cloud, for example OneDrive and Dropbox. Does not say that it is possible to backup OneDrive.

Hidden away in the table in KB 65641: Difference between Acronis Cyber Protect 15 and Acronis True Image 2021 there is an indication that it is only possible to backup OneDrive by the method I mentioned previously; you cannot back up OneDrive by Disks & Partitions or Files & Folders backups. It is my understanding that this is due to Acronis being unable to find a solution to the problems caused by the files on demand feature of OneDrive.

Ian

On my backup of one of the OneDrive folders for Nas, I am getting this error line Error 0x170019-The item was ignored.

What was the full error message as shown in the log for this issue?

I have a local backup task that backs up my own OneDrive folders to an external USB drive that works fine so long as the OneDrive 'Files on Demand' feature is not enabled.

Hi,

The warning is this:

2020-11-07T19:02:23:650-03:00 7780 W00170019: Error 0x170019: The item was skipped

Thanks Claudio, if the backup only skipped a single file, Path: C:/Users/*****/OneDrive/Images/Images/Camera images/20190108_110548_Burst08.jpg then it would suggest that perhaps that file was being locked by another process.  Normally, if Files on Demand is active for OneDrive, there would be multiple files being skipped because they were represented by reparse points (to the cloud copy of the files).

Hi
The ****** I typed to hide the user.

Virtually all of the contents of the "Camera Pictures" folder are being ignored. Only a few photos stored in this folder are being copied.

My ondrive is enabled on demand.

Claudio, if you have OneDrive Files on Demand enabled, then ATI cannot back up the files that are stored up in the OneDrive cloud server systems.  This has been the case for several years now.

See KB 61362: Acronis True Image: Error when backing up or recovering OneDrive folder

KB 61425: Acronis True Image 2018: OneDrive folders are excluded by default

If your edition of ATI allows you, then you can use the Acronis Dashboard option to save OneDrive files directly but this is for Microsoft 365 only as far as I understand.

See KB 62069: Acronis True Image 2019 and 2020: how to back up Office 365 accounts

I am getting similar errors and failed backups: c:\jenkins_agent ...

The highlighted lines above show the cause of the backup failure, i.e. the Microsoft VSS snapshot service used by ATI 2020 to capture backup data is failing due to memory constraints on the PC.

Download a copy of the free Acronis VSS Doctor tool and run this to see what issues this identifies, allow the tool to fix any errors it offers to fix, then restart Windows before attempting the backup operation again.  Link to tool below.
