Acronis 2021 vs perpetual licence for Acronis 2019

Thread needs solution

I have a perpetual licence for Acronis 2019. I would like to get the newer version of Acronis 2021 which I just downloded it (not installed), but I want to transfer my perpetual licence into 2021.

How can I do it?

Gilles, welcome to these public User Forums.

Perpetual version licenses apply only to a single version, i.e. to ATI 2019 and cannot be transferred to a newer version of ATI, only to a different PC to use the same licensed version.

What you can do is purchase either an Upgrade from ATI 2019 to 2021 or else purchase a new full perpetual license of ATI 2021.

See KB 65495: How to upgrade to Acronis True Image 2021 which has more information.

Apparently the word Perpetual is misleading.  It means that you have a perpetual license to a single year's version of ATI, NOT that you get annual upgrades to the then-current version year after year without paying any more.

Perpetual in the context of ATI  simply means 'Buy once and use it for as long as it works and the version of Windows it is used with supports it."

Upgrades to perpetual versions are available during the period that that version is in support, i.e. normally for 1 year from the date it was released to the general public.
