Problem with System Clean-up
I'm having a problem using System Clean-up with Acronis True
Image 2010 under Windows Vista Ultimate.
Clean-up quickly displays:
Scan completed, 11990 items found. Below is detailed list of
found items.
In fact no items are displayed. After a time the "rotating
donut" shows up and the system appears to have frozen. Pressing
Cancel has no effect except to cause the Clean-up window to Grey
out. Task Manager has to be used to stop the Acronis process.
Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
Thanks.

I'm having the same issue with Acronis True Image Home 2011 under Vista 64 Home Pro.
About 7.000 files are found to clean up. Klicking the icon to see the file details the application is locked. exits after a timeout of 1 to 2 minutes.

Hello,
I'm a fairly new user of Acronis True Image Home 2011 and I am running this software on 2 computers
One has Windows 7 64 bit installed
The other one is a 32 bit machine so it has Windows 7 32 bit running.
I'm experiencing the exact same thing as mentioned above, on the 64 bit machine only.
So, system cleanup works fine on the 32 bit machine
It hangs and exits after timeout on the 64 bit machine. (also tried in safe mode, same problem)
I still have about 10 days trial left before having to decide to buy this software or not.
It would be encouraging to read in this forum that this problem, what appears to be a software bug, will be fixed in a next build of this software.
Thank you
RHE
Edited : My system doesn't find a huge amount of files to be cleaned, (around about 1000)

Hello again,
I just found out what the reason is why system clean-up hangs.
It has nothing to do with the fact that it's a 64 bit machine/OS.
I noticed a huge amount of data in my recycle bin.
After cleaning out the recycle bin manually the clean-up tool works.
Cnclusion: it hangs when having to deal with a large amount of data to clean out.
Kind regards
RHE

RHE,
Thanks for the post and the EXCELLENT detective work! Your conclusion has allowed me to
use the clean-up utility.
Regarding the core program I find that it works to perfection! Much better than the current iteration
of its well known competitor!
Again, thanks for your post.
