Overnight backups mysteriously failing?

Thread solved

PROBLEM: We are using Acronis True Image 2019 to back up our computer files to our WD PR2100 NAS drive subfolder.  Recently, the backup fails every night indicating a write error or lack of a connection.  Ironically, when we click to reconnect from the Acronis application error dialog for that backup, the connection is immediately re-established and we can perform a successful backup.

BACKGROUND: We are able to connect to our WD NAS drive folders without any problems.  The computer is never turned off at night.  The backup seems to work for awhile and then we unexpectedly find that our backup has not run for several days because of an error.  Unfortunately, the activity window shows the failed daily backups, but doesn't appear to give any detailed information for the failure.

QUESTION: The confusing thing is that the Acronis Software immediately restores the connection when prompted.  Has anyone had a similar experience or ideas on troubleshooting the problem before we miss any critical backups?

Thank you for any assistance.

BlueMax,

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page..   You can use this tool to look at the Demon logs for your backup task.

Take a look at the ATI 2020 topic here for details of how to use a small Windows batch file as a Pre Command for your backup task to ensure a connection is available to your NAS.
