Backing up To Two DRIVES

Thread needs solution

With TI Home 2010 is it possible to back up to two different hard drives at the same time?
If so, how?

Thanks

TI can't save an image to two separate destinations at the same time. It can save to two drives in a RAID 1 type configuration, but I don't think that's what you're asking about.

You can make a reserve copy of your backup to another destination. In effect, ATI will do 2 backups each time, but sequentially.

I didn't try it, so I don't know how the reserved copy behaves with auto-cleanup, consolidation etc.

Of course, you can create 2 different tasks (that will give you more flexibility)

Thanks Pat...
After I posted this I did create two tasks that run about an hour apart to backup to both drives...

Saves a lot of dvd's by having a reserve copy on a different hard drive...

Thanks

So are you using the reserve copy?

If yes, let me know how this is working for you. Another user reported the reserve copy doesn't follow the backup scheme. I am also curious to see what happens with clean up. Does the reservce copy get cleaned up in parallel to the main backup?

I'm not sure what you mean "Follow The Backup Scheme" and "Clean Up"..

Like I said, I set up TWO tasks with each task running at a different time.

One task backs up to one hard drive and the other task backs up to a different hard drive....

Being they are two separate tasks I don't see how their could be any conflict between them...

Exactly right. Nothing wrong with your approach: it is the right one. You answered my questions (I was curious about how reserve copies behave, but you don't use them).
