corrupt recovery overview

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I run ATI 2020 build 22510  local standalone version (no cloud)
I deleted some back up files manualy, my disk was full.

When I go to the recover tab  of a backup, it can not read the backup history.
The window gives options:  Ignore, retry, cancel.
None of these repair the backup hystory.

How can I repair /  recover my backups?

Please:  not tips to reinstall ATI.  :-)

Marien, what actual files have you deleted here?

If these are ATI backup files (.tib or .tibx) then these should be removed, when needed, using the 'Clean up versions' tool provided in the task menu for each task shown in the ATI GUI Backup list.

The suggestions here are to:

  • Try doing a Validation for the backup task(s) where files have been deleted.

  • Follow the steps in KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - to either force a rebuild of the internal tracking database, or else to do a Repair Install (which doesn't remove any of your backup tasks etc).

  • If the Recovery panel is suggesting that there is no backup data yet to recover, then use the 'Add existing backup' option (hidden behind the caret 'v' to the right of the normal 'Add new backup' option), and select the most recent of your backup files to add back.

Hi Steve,  Thanks
I'll try this...but wher can We find:  Clean up versions' tool  .  in which part of the window?
(I use 2020)

Marien, see the ATI 2020 User Guide: Backup operations menu which has an image showing where to find the Clean up versions tool.

Also section: Cleaning up backup versions manually - for more detailed information.

Hi Steve,  Thanks,  That menu was whiped out of my memory..
It's bettter to use this menu instead of deleting backups in the explorer.
