TI 2010 & BSOD after install
I have TI 2010 build 5055. I installed it onto Vista Home Premium 64-bit fully patched system. I've tried installing TI several times. Each time the install seems good, but when it reboots at the end I get a BSOD saying "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED AREA". The only way I'm able to get back to Windows is to use F8 on boot and use the Last Good Boot option. I've tried installing TI after using msconfig to turn everything off except the essential Windows services. The install seems to have messed permissions up in the Registry. Post TI install, another application, Microsoft MapPoint, fails with a registry error on start and instructs me to reinstall MapPoint (MP). The MP reinstall then failed after getting an Access Denied on a registry key. (I'm running as administrator.) I correct the permissions on the key and MP reinstalls OK but continues to fail on start with the registry error. If I turn off UAC, then MP starts and works just fine.
I've uninstalled TI 2010 (and Disk Director 10) using the Acronis Cleanup utility. What do I need to provide to get this resolved? If it cannot be resolved fairly quickly, I'll just return TI 2010 for a refund and go back to the stable 2009.

I have many USB devices (printers, keyboard, mouse, scanner, external HD) but no USB thumb drives. There is an internal card reader built into the PC.

The internal card reader is the issue. Acronis dropped the ball on this one.

You have to choose between using ATI 2010 or your card reader. **** that Acronis can't be bothered to fix this.

That's what I also suspect, Marc. As I want both to work, for now I think that I'll return ATI 2010 for a refund and wait awhile. In six months or so I'll download the trial version latest build and see if it installs. If it works, then I'll think about buying it again.
