"Failed to lock the file"
An ATI 2021 back up to the cloud that was halted by "file system error" now shows 26GB Space occupied in the cloud (the message on my screen is "empty folder"). On trying to delete the Backup to free up the space I get this message: see "failed to lock the file.png" file attached. When I go over to the knowledge base I reach a page whose contents you see partially in the second PNG file attached.
I would beg ATI engineers to put themselves into the shoes of a person trying to manage backup services for several remotely located computers using ATI to support serious organization work. These messages might have been great in the days when I was dealing with Acronis operating from the USA and I was simply a hobby programmer. But for business applications, where I surely would want to free up space in the cloud with one click, going through the steps that I am advised to follow in these messages shown me in the attached PNG files is a great way to drive me into the arms of your competition.
Thankfully I have had good experience with Acronis for many years, and so all I will do now is carefully avoid trying to do any ATI image back up to the cloud, just to get control over my time pressures as a business person.

Regrets for my late response Steve, and thanks for your suggestion.

For what it's worth, I receive this exact same error (amongst others...) when backing up to a local NAS. There is tons of free space on the NAS, which suggests an error/bug in TI rather than anything to do with authentication.

Acronis True Image 2021 : Same issue.
I have created backups on my local NAS successfully. Now, I get the error "Backup Failed, Failed to lock file. My NAS has easily 20 TB of free space. Actually more space. I was not going to buy Acronis again due to this kind of thing. But, after waiting a year or two i purchased it again and here we go. Same crap......problems.
I feel as I have wasted my money once again. I must be an idiot for doing this AGAIN!
Okay, now it states it cannot get a connection. Connection was reestablished. I guess the latest windows update may have caused it to be disconnected. Now it tells me the task cant run.. Then it tells me the task is already running. I will restart Acronis True Image 2021, establish a connection and tell it to perform a backup. If that does not work I will be back on here to tell you. If it does work. I will also let you know it is now working.
