File system error is found. Consider checking the disk using Check Disk Utility.
Hi,
I received the following error message in my system tray and in my logs when my scheduled incremental backup tried to run overnight: File system error is found. Consider checking the disk using Check Disk Utility.
What is the best way to troubleshoot which drive may be causing the error? Is there a utility I should run other than Chkdsk? Can Chkdsk be run on a solid state drive?
Thank you.

Your error indicating file system corruption is best dealt with by chkdsk /f as Steve says on each partition on disk. Please run the chkdsk /f from an admin command prompt or admin PowerShell prompt. Additionally, run the chkdsk utility against all drives included in the task. This includes the drive where your backup file is stored as well as all source disks. If you use the Entire PC option to create your backup and your PC has more than one internal disk then Entire PC includes these additional internal disks in the backup.

Thanks everyone. Ran chkdsk and disk utilities and turned out one of my source drives was failing.
