Creating Acronis BOOT USB disк
1. Download and install HPUSBFW tool (http://hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool.software.informer.com/2.1/) and DOS boot disk files (http://www.allbootdisks.com/downloads/Disks/MS-DOS_Boot_Disk_Download47… –--> attention: you’ll have to extract Dos6.22.exe to a floppy. If your computer doesn’t have a floppy drive, you’ll have to make a floppy diskette elsewhere and than copy all files from the diskette to desired destination).
2. Format USB flash drive using HPUSBFW.exe. Attention: for the File system you must choose FAT (if there is no FAT option in the menu, it means that your USB flash drive can’t be formatted as FAT and you have to find another USB flash drive). Check option ‘Create a DOS startup disk’. In the field ‘using DOS system files located at:’ point to the folder where bootable DOS files are.
3. After formatting, open your version of Acronis application and choose Create Bootable Rescue Media. For the destination media choose USB drive (Removable Disk).
4. Create file autoexec.bat in the root of USB flash drive. Enter this line in the file:
run bootmenu.exe
and save changes to the file.
Bootable Acronis USB drive is ready for use!
Peace :o)

Jerry,
The link still works (at least it just loaded okay for me -- both from my site and the link you posted). For those not familiar with the "boot-land.net" links/site, their pages seem to go down quite often.

Hi MudCrab,
I tried your Grub4DOS method to setup a bootable USB flash drive. I am running Windows 7 on my notebook. I got to figure 1.7 and when I hit the Refresh button for Part List, I got an error message "Invalid partition table, if you still want to install, use the --skip-mbr-test". I then selected "Whole Disk (MBR)" and hit "Install". I now get another error in command prompt as per attached.
What can I do and how to get over this? Thanks...

If you don't think anything is wrong with the drive and/or partition table, just enter --skip-mbr-test into the Extra box before you click Install. Using this option is necessary on some drives. If you clean the flashdrive first, I don't think you'll get that error.
