3TB drives are GPT drives, because they are bigger than the 2GB limit for MBR Data.
You will need the Plus Pack to get support for GPT disks in TI 2011 and TI2010 per this knowledge base article.

Other benefits of the plus pack include:
- ability to restore to dissimilar hardware (ie you change your motherboard)
- ability to create WinPE boot environment.

If I buy a new 3 tb drive which I format as NTFS. The hard drive is nit GPt drives. thanks

As you know, NTFS is the format of a partition and you can have several partitions on a disk as you know.

MBR based disks cannot support partitions bigger than 2TB.

If you disk came formatted as a single 3TB partition, it has to be a GPT disk. You can convert it to MBR and you will have to partition it accordingly so that no partition exceeds 2TB.
