VALIDATE of existing backup fails

Thread solved

I know this issue has been asked several times but unfortunately I can't use the SEARCH option to find the solution. I'm sure it is a script error but it won't let me search within this forum.

The issue is that I have V2 of a FULL backup and I need to restore some files. I am trying to run a VALIDATE on this TIB but it never completes. It just tells me that it "cannot find version v1". It is a popup window with three buttons: RETRY-CANCEL-BROWSE. I am thinking that the software, Acronis True Image 2018, is capable of ignoring the missing version and allow me to use the existing and only version, but it is giving me that option.

I try the CANCEL option and it cancels the process.

How can I perform a RECOVERY from this file: MediaData_full_b5_s1_v2.tib

Thanks!

Gil, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you have a backup image named: MediaData_full_b5_s1_v2.tib then the missing file is one that should be named: MediaData_full_b5_s1_v1.tib.

This use of _v1 & _v2 suggests that the backup image was split when being created and that both files are required to make a complete backup.

Thanks!

That surely explains the issue. I found the first part of the backup file, the V1 file; and the validation completed successfully.

Thank You!
