Cant restore a backup using 2021 version, Null reference

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Im having trouble to restore a image in mi pc, the last time that I restored a image was with the version 2021 35860 and I dont had any problem, now a use the latest 39216 version and I have a error message, when choose the drive to restore the image (the ssd of all life than I choose to restore the image) first says that I need to restart, that never happend before, I click restart ant the error message appears (I attached the image) and cant restored, I used the two latest version of 2021 version and the same error, the 35860 build works fine, so I decide use the latest version of the 2020 (38530) version and works fine, only the 2021 version are failing.

PD: I use a optical disk to boot (dvd) I download the iso directly from the acronis website

when are to release a working version without that issue on the 2021 version???

thanks

Pame, welcome to these public User Forums.

PD: I use a optical disk to boot (dvd) I download the iso directly from the acronis website

The download ISO file for the boot disc is of a Linux kernel based OS tool which gets updated with new builds of ATI and thus may not keep the same level of support for some installed hardware.

The recommendation is to use the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder tool to create the 'Simple' version of the rescue media which uses the Windows Recovery Environment from your PC to create custom WinPE media that includes the device drivers on your PC.

See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media and
KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

Hi, thanks for reply.

I thought the same too, Idid that, I made a acronis bootable rescue media using the tool en the acronis software for windows, I thought that it made a compatible WinPE media and the result its the same!!!

It dont make any sense that a new version like 2021 can have a issue that the 2020 version dont have and the previous build of the 2021 version like the 35860 build dont have too, only the two latest builds of 2021

I dont know what ATI means, I have a Asus motherboard, kingston ssd and intel i7 7700 processor, never before happened to mi with acronis software, Im force to use the 2020 version for this issue in the 2021.

Somebody have to look why its happening this issue, the only way to works, its wipe the disk before restore the image, and the simple way its select in the acronis boot software wipe in fast mode, and now, do that in a ssd? its killing his life of the ssd, before never have to wipe, only select the ssd and wooala ready.

thanks

Pame,

Since the boot media created by the Acronis tool fails I suggest that you use our MVP Media Builder tool.  You can use the link below to download it.  When you run it select the WinRE version for the best compatibility with your system.

MVP Media Builder Tool

hello,

the tool is a litle old 2019, so using Acronis True Image 2020 build 38530 that its work fine, I prefer using that instead try to use old tools, thanks in advance

Hope someday fix that issue in the 2021 version or even 2022 uncoming version

Pame

The reason for the MVP tool not being updated since 2019 is that nothing has really changed in later versions of TI that effect the boot media so there has been no reason to update the tool.

Ditto to above comments, the MVP tool is working great with ATI 2021 and previous versions.
