Magnus,

I would suggest first making a complete disk image of the current drive and then restore it to the SSD drive. To do that there are 3 options.

1. To run TIH in Windows, install TIH on another PC and then (if a desktop) temporarily install one or both of the drives and then just perform a restore and then remove the drives and insert the SSD into the laptop.

2. Install TIH and make a rescue CD (or download an ISO from your account and burn that to CD), then as above first make a complete disk image of your current laptop drive, insert the SSD into the laptop and restore.

3. If you don't have access to another drive to make an image, make the rescue CD as above and then insert the SSD into the laptop, boot the laptop form the CD and instead of making an image select clone and clone the drive.

There are somethings to look out for.

1. You need to make the rescue CD in case of an emergency, but you might find problems booting the laptop from the CD - now is the time to find out and report back here if the keyboard or external drives can't be seen or it won't boot.

2. If Windows is set up on the laptop as yet and this is a Dell or HP laptop or IBM etc you might find the OEM setup program will sulk at not finding the drive it expects. You might not, it just depends on how the manufacturer has packaged the install program. If this is a shop bought version of W7, then this can be ignored.

For peace of mind even if you decide to go the clone route, if possible you should ensure you have a full disk image of the laptop before starting.

That worked just as I wanted it to, thank god for such a excellent application!

Thanks for the help!
