How do I restore a single program or file after MOBO replacement?

Thread needs solution

I have done many restores using ATI in the past. This time, my Motherboard has gone out, and I have been warned that the tech will do a wipe of the HD and reinstall of Windows XP. He has said ATI will not work as new chip set drivers. However, I am thinking i should be able to pull off certain files and data.
As I say, I know how to do FULL restore using ATI 10, but what dio I do for individual? Is it just click and drag? Or do I need to uncompress it somehow first?
Thanks for your help!

Wayne,

First off, with the Plus Pack, you could manage to restore to different hardware. With Universal Restore, you are able to specify where ATI can find new controller drivers. Not as easy as it might sound, as you have to get the uncompressed drivers. The Universal Restore is not a guarranteed path, but it might be worth trying if you cannot reinstall some programs.

Second, if you just need to pick up some files from the backup, you can simply double click the image and use Windows explorer to drag and drop the files, or you can mount the image as a disk and use it as such.

You can also restore specific files and folders from the recovery CD, from an image backup or a file backup.
