Cannot see incremental backup - acronis bootable media

Thread solved

Hi,

I check my backup daily and know for sure that the incremental backup is working fine via the application. Unfortunately my server crushed and i need to restore so:

Boot from the CD and cannot see any of my incremental backup but the main file where i cannot select to restore.

Please help,

Thank you

Hello Khan,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

Boot from the CD and cannot see any of my incremental backup but the main file where i cannot select to restore.

Is this a .tib or .tibx backup file format? Disk-level or file-level backup? Where is it located? Is this location accessible from Acronis Bootable Media?

Could you please share with us screenshots that illustrate the issue?

I'm using Cyber protect version 12.5 so very sure it's tibx format but will be at the office to double check

Hello,

Here are the screenshots, hope this help

Hello Khan!

Which backups appear if you click the small dropdown arrow for the archive at the "Data to recover selection" screen? If you click on it you should see a list of recovery points as you would in your attached screenshot of the management console.

Hello Khan.

I do not see any issues here: the last photo demonstrates the various recovery points - daily incremental backups (all incrementals + full = backup archive W2K122....) Please select the date where you need to restore: the software will start to recover from all incrementals (created till the selected date) + full backup.

Hello Peter,

That's the problem,

I see none BIG ZERO  so cannot restore. and If I can't restore , this will be a big problem for us.

THANKS

I seem to remember someone else having the same problem, but can't find it at the momemnt. In the meantime, export the backup you want to recover to another location and see if you can restore from there. Also check that your bootable media and other acronis components are of the same build.

Hi,

Try to validate and here is the error

did not try to export. will try tomorrow :(

Hello Maria,

The last screen was to illustrate that i have recovered within the APP but cannot see the same via bootable media

Hello Khan.

The last photo demonstrates either that Acronis Bootable Media can't access the backup location or the backup is corrupted.

However, I agree with Peter: please re-create Acronis Bootable Media with the help of Bootable Media builder in Acronis Management Console and see if the issue persists.

Hi,

I'm very concern about restoring from bootable media:

1. I build a new server with 2019 essential

2. updated , install anti-virus, and acronis cyber backup 12.5

3. backup entire machine

4. downloaded new iso bootable media

5. create on cd

6. replace with new hard drive

7. boot with bootable media ( cannot even boot with bios UEFI) have to change to legacy

8. try to restore entire hard drive

9. same problem.

some one told me to create bootable media wirn WINPE but i just CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING

Hello Khan!

Is it a plain hard drive or is it part of a RAID configuration?

You haven't said if you tried to export a backup to e.g. an external hdd and restore with bootable media from there. There's also the option to register the bootable media with the management console when you create it with the Bootable Media Builder. That way you can push the recovery onto the crashed server from the management console, where you have no problem browsing the recovery points.

Hello Khan.

Where is this backup stored?

The screenshots show that the backup is not accessible from bootable media.

some one told me to create bootable media wirn WINPE but i just CANNOT BELIEVE THIS. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING

We also recommend that you create a WinPE-based bootable media and add there drivers for backup storage that is not accessible from a regular Linux-based bootable media.

To all,

After days of wasted !! fortunately i have Windows Server Backup activated so i can BMR otherwise, A HUGE DISASTER.

I was counting SO MUCH on Acronis but when it comes to a huge crash, Acronis cannot help me.

I'm very disappointed.

What procedure solved your problem?

Thanks to Windows server Backup, Bare Metal Recovery. It helped me.
