I would like full TLS 1.2 support (including all agents) as V1.1 and 1.0 are not recommended anymore and are considered unsecure. Google has announce Chrome 81 won't support the latter anymore. Microsoft also recommends switching to TLS 1.2.
Hi! I've registered your comment as a vote in the existing feature request RM-876 TLS 1.2 support, thank you!
Another wish would be speeding up restores from LTO tapes. Recovering VM's (Hyper.V) individual files/folders from tape takes unbelievably long due to slow browsing for the file which can easily take >30 min if the file to restore was deep in the folder tree. OTOH, once the file is located, the restore time from the LTO tape itself is OK.
This issue requires investigation with the help of our support team. Please open a ticket, so that our engineers can look into the situation.

Thank you, Morris, passed to the product manager! According to the latest records, the option is planned to be added to the backup console UI.

I have not read the previous posts but my input here in spring 2020 is to urge Acronis to improve how they market the value proposition of Acronis Backup vs. True Image. As an Acronis partner but so far with limited exposure to the whole product lines, I can say this: True Image with cloud storage seems to be as functional or better than the exact same Acronis Backup cloud storage equivalent licensing, at 1/8th the cost.
This missing piece here is how they market to small businesses that have no servers. I get that Backup is your only choice for larger companies with servers, but if you just have some workstations you want to back up, there's no discernible reason of any kind in any of the product literatures as to why one would choose Acronis Backup over True Image for workstations, and anything that hints as an incentive comes nowhere close to justifying an 800% cost increase.
From a development standpoint, this being based on my last time configuring backups in Acronis Backup which was perhaps 6 months ago, why does True Image come with a variety of very useful tools like driving cloning, and multiple forms of creating restore media, yet Backup comes with none of this stuff? From an IT admin standpoing, I'd rather go with True Image to be honest since I can for example swap out a smaller SSD for a larger one in a computer, and then set up the backups, and easily make restore media. Can't do any of that with just Acronis Backup. AGain, this was the case 6 months ago, maybe things have improved.

Hello Colin,
thank you for your feedback! Both product families have different feature set. Acronis True Image is designed for home usage, but not limited to it. If the product suits your needs, you can use it in your business environment as well. The following table provides information about the differences in features of both products: https://kb.acronis.com/content/63298 We also recommend Acronis Backup for environments larger than 5 machines.

Hi,
My request is not for a feature this time but more for performance of the disk archives on Storage nodes.
We have incremental only disk level backups to disk for a 5TB volume. The replication of the full to tape has grown to over 41 hours (at 35MB/s). Extracting the backup out of the archive on disk is the slow bit. And no, I can't split it up as it's a disk level backup ( Acronis support suggested moving from file to disk level backup), there is no compression or deduplication, or encryption as all these slow the process even more. We have other backups I've sent direct to tape across the network at 50MB/s. Surely we can get more from a disk to tape on the same server.
Thanks,
Albert

It would also be great to be able to restore databases from https://eu2-cloud.acronis.com/ui/ aswell as https://eu2-cloud.acronis.com/wr/
Not just files/folders.
It would also be great if we could restore MySQL databases from one agent to another agent.
That's something we could do in R1Soft. That would save alot of time/work when we need to do that.
We would also like to be able to paste in the whole path to a folder in UI. For example folder /home/test/domain/test/code/site/
Instead of clicking forever, it would be much better to just paste the path and viola!
And last a bug or real issue we have is with folders containing thousends of files.
For example on cPanel DNS servers in /var/named/. When we get into that folder only some files are listed, and we need to scroll for 1-2 hours before all files are listen.
Then we can sort them by alphabeth and find the files we need restore.
So now that restore is unusable! Please find a solution on this and get it fixed asap.
I have told our account mananger about this before, but nothing have happend yet!

Hello again, Dan! One question - wouldn't creating incremental backup every 2 days fulfill your use-case? Basically, this scheme will cover all data changed since the previous backup 2 days ago

Product: Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5
Feature: Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and Bootable Media.
Requests:
1. Replace the current Manager with a individualized version of Acronis Bootmedia registered on Management Server.
The Manager should copy all Network Settings (static and dynamic) of the running Machine and get a Name like “Hostname_Recovery”. While booting the Startup Recovery Manager the Machine should appear automatically in the web console.
2. Make it possible to download/create this individualized bootable Media as ISO from Web Consol Machine Details View. Last stored Networkinformations should be used for Hosts that are currently offline.
3. Make it possible to “recover” this bootmedia on a USB Stick on a other computer remotely where Acronis is also Running.
(Administrators could Recover the Individualized Boot Media directly on a usb Stick that is connected to a Laptop of a Technician.)

- A documented Rest API for all GUI functions
- "Multi thread" the VM agent to allow it to process more than one concurrent conversion
- SNMP support for all status and alerts
With the API we can build Powershell cmdlets for all GUID functions and integrate to more automation.

Hi!
We are working with groups created on vcenter which we use in our backup plans, so new VMs in these groups are added dynamically to the backup plan. From times to times it happens, that we don't want special maschines to be backuped.
It would be nice to be able to exclude VMs from the plan which contain the whole vCenter VM Group.
Thanks

1. If AMS goes down currently there is not automated process to recover Management server settings like Backup plan, Storage settings and other device related setting. We should have some automated process where customer can build their management server in one shot after installing the software.
2. AMS High availability is required. Some big customers are there who has their own DC and DR and they want to setup Management server in both location. If DC AMS is failed then DR AMS should take over all the operation.
3. Agent for databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB etc
4. Consider Linux desktop version as Workstation license. i.e lots of customers are there who use Ubuntu desktop version and looking for backup. In that case server license is very expensive for them.
5. SNMP agent for any kind of NAS backup

Issues reported a long time ago
- With big folders with many hundreds of files/folders, we have to scroll manually with the mouse and use countless of minutes trying to find the correct file/folder. They are not sorted alphabetically from start so we have to scroll trough all pages first, then use search in browser to find the correct file/folder.
- Scrolling on a page is not working with "Page Down" or "End" button on keyboard.
- When will it be possible to go directly to a folder instead of searching for it?
For example I would like to go to /home/username/dev/website/images/
It would be alot easier to just type the path and Acronis load that folder.
- Same goes for restoring a file in that folder.
Why not have a quick restore function were we could just add the whole path to the file. For example:
/home/username/dev/website/images/image02.png

The file level recovery dialoge, by default, has no year column defined, only the popup on mouseover will give you the detailed date of files available for recovery:
Clearly, this is no satisfying default display.

I was surprise to see that the dashboard of the management server does not list the current active backup sessions.
This information must be fetched somewhat cumbersome through "plans" dialogue.
It should not be too difficult to implement a dashboard widget listing currently running backups.
Event better the widget could also include the next backup plans about to be started.

We are fans of tape backups, so we would appreciate that we could migrate (copy) backups from tape to tape, e.g. to move to a new LTO generation.
To my knowledge, this is currently not possible.

Acronis Cyber Backup does not list BTRFS as "Supported file systems" (https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisBackup_12/in…).
This is awkward, as SLES 12 has BTRFS as Default root FS.
Currently, in this setup, BTRFS file systems cannot be restored on file level, and non-BTRFS File Level Recoveries are liste as "unknown:", "unknown (2)": etc.
Thanks, Thomas

Capability to start a backup plan at the end of one.
I want to use this instead of scheduling.
ex I start one plan and at the end it starts the next and have them daisy chained so the server is working for the most time.

Hello,
We would like to disable notifications for just certain plans in Acronis Cyber Cloud. We backup our employee laptops and when they are on vacation or just unable to get a backup for a few days, it’s not a big deal, but with the number of machines in our account it floods our inbox with “false” errors, when actually we would only like to receive an alert if a machine didn’t backup for more than 10 days. We see a combinations of the following errors;
- Cyber Protection (or Active Protection) service is not responding
Cyber Protect Service is not responding. Please restart the machine or contact your administrator.- Not worried about this error
- Backup status is unknown
The backup agent was offline at a scheduled backup time. The status of the device backups will be unknown until the backup agent becomes online. - Backup did not start
The backup did not start as scheduled. Either it was skipped automatically because the previous backup was still running, or a backup scheduler error had occurred.
For the Laptops-Windows Plan and the Laptops-Macs Plan, we would basically only want the following error to alert us, which I have enabled under the Edit Plans > Backup Options > Alerts > Generate alerts on the following conditions = 10
Thank you,
-Jon

It would also be nice to see some kind of activity or progress bar on the ESXi console window, if any type of event (ie. backup) is being used by that agent, without needing to log into the cloud management web console.
Thank you.

When recovering files from a backup, the last change column doesn't display the year, altough sorting takes it into account. Noted in this topic.

I would like to have the same scheduler on validation plans (12.5 advanced) like the scheduler on backup plans. Unfortunately, in validation plans scheduler there is no custom option that allows to select months individually (ex: only on Jan,Jul,Dec). It exists only on backup plans scheduler.

Ekaterina - Didn't get any response here or DM from you about the many files in a folder issue.
I also sent this exact same issue about 2 years ago to our account manager and he said it would be implemented.
Now we have lost customers because of this, and we are also looking to change from Acronis to something else because of this.
