Hello gilles,
I also have this problem an be in contact with the support.
My problem is extended to yours: Also external harddisk is in usage by 97%.
Try to disable mmsminisrv service. First stop the service and take a look. If this solve the problem, you can switch from start automaticly to manually..
Good luck

Ok thanks gillis
so i will leave acronis active all day, without backup.
I also stopped the protection and the service (mmsminsrv) which also accesses the disk D
85% access to disk D without backup !!!!!
can we stop scanning for malware
thank you jillis

The problem is solved. My SSD had two hidden partitions and three visable. With Acronis this matter will cause a problem. The interface showed slowly reactions (no return message) and the mmsmini service always high disk usage. After unhide the hidden partitions, Acronis is running fine.

Was that your Windows boot drive or a non-boot drive with hidden partitions?
If Windows 10 boot drive, it creates 4 partitions on a UEFI system, only one should be visible, which has Windows, apps & data

Boot drive SSD
1. system reserved partition 128 MB
2. Windows RE tools 299MB NTFS *
3. EFI Systempartition 260 MB
4. Recovery 11,76 GB NTFS *
5. Windows C: 407,75 GB
6. unused 46,58 (thats 10% over provisioning SSD Samsung)
* this partitions were hidden and caused the Acronis error.
The unused partition 6 had no matter with the fault. I checked this and disabled over provisioning for test.
In addition there is a 1000 GB harddisk D: in the system. It is not bootable, it is a logical drive.

Wolf, all I can say is that I never assign drive letters to the hidden / system partitions shown in your update above and would never recommend doing so.
If the Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini service is causing performance issues then I would set it to be either Manual or Disabled start up in the service properties! I do not use the Acronis Dashboard on my systems and am wary of having it enabled due to previous issues where Acronis has decided to reset all task settings to default for large numbers of users due to some bug on their servers!

Steve, hide/unhide and assign a drive letter are not the same. Using dispart you can also assign a drive letter and hide a partition. I'm assign not a drive letter, only unhide the recovery and windows RE tools partitions.
I tested it: If I hide one of these partitions, the Acronis fault is immediately back, also the mmsminesrv fault.
Also I never recommend to assign a drive letter for these partitions and I also don't want to do this.

Wolf, thanks for your clarification about unhiding versus assigning drive letters - if Acronis are having issues with hidden partitions then that is still bad!

Looking at OP jpgs, it's clear this is another report of secondary HDD (D:), not boot SSD (C:), having high usage from an exe that is supposedly just showing the Dashboard feature.
I also reported this Dec 14 here:
https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-cyber-protect-home-office-forum…
Let's focus on getting an answer to why this .exe is acting like malware with high drive usage for no documented purpose: :)

News update:
The fault is in matter with a Microsoft update from april.
To hide the partitions manually with a tool is not the correct way. The partitions must be declair as recovery partitions uses bei the system.
In diskpart it is possible to do this:
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
After this action, the partitions are hidden and ACPHO runs very well.
For more information:
See attachment.
At least in my opinion Acronis CPHO contain no fault in this case.
