Going back to TI-2019 from TI-2020
Yesterday I uninstalled TI-2020 because I'm not happy with the way it chains the .TIBx files and the inordinately long Verify times. My desired was to return to the .TIX format which was used for TI-2019. The uninstall of TI-2020 seemed to work ok and so did the install and registration for TI-2019 from my historical downloads directory. After the install and registration I was notified of a newer version which I accepted and installed.
However, last night I ran a full backup and this AM I find both .TIB and a .TIBx files in the destination directory. Each about 500 GB.
How do I run TI-2019 for backup to only the .TIB file.
Thanks....RDK

Steve...Yes, I understand that, but with a clean external drive I started TI-2019 for a simple backup, no validation, no e-mail, ... last night
However, when I opened up the external drive the this morning, there were two files with the same name, one a .TIB and the other a TIBx. Both were about 500 gb, which would be about right for a full backup. I'm doing it again tonight, on a different, clean external drive. We'll see in the morning....RDK

RDK, I'm wondering if your uninstall of ATI 2020 was not complete and maybe there is something left over which is causing this. I don't think I've ever seen such a symptom reported, but then few go backwards on reinstallation.
I would suggest uninstalling ATI 2019 and then running the cleanup tool to get everything removed before reinstalling.

Look at my signature for a link to the tool.

OK, I did the experiment and this time only one file was created, the .TIB file. And, it is now also creating the smaller incremental files.
So for now I will leave this installation alone.....RDK

Glad to hear it's working now. So the only thing you changed was to use a new clean backup drive?
When you backed off from ATI 2020 to ATI 2019, did you keep the same backup tasks or did you start with a clean slate. Keeping the same data could have been problematic.
