Scheduler2 Service Prevents Shutdown/Restart

Thread needs solution

Ever since installing the latest version of Acronis Cyber Protect, I have been having an issue where the scheduler2 service prevents my machine from shutting down or rebooting. I enabled verbose messaging on shutdown/restart in my registry to TS why my PC was hanging on shutdown/restart and this is what I discovered.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acronis. I have done a fresh install of Windows 10. I even tried Windows 11 and the issue persists across both platforms and regardless of fresh install or OS reset. A hundred bucks a year is a lot of money to me and too much to be having this issue consistently.
I have allowed the PC to sit for more than 30 minutes with the message on the screen about the scheduler2 service, but it made no difference.
I have to do a hard shutdown every time.
I tried disabling the service and figured I would just run my backups manually, but after a reboot and despite Acronis starting up, it will not run the backup request without scheduler2 service running, even when I try to ignore the warning.
Just curious if anyone else has had or is having the same or similar issue, or if anyone has any kind of advice or workaround to try?

Thanks in advance.

Christopher, welcome to these public User Forums.

I have only seen one or two other people raising a similar issue as this topic but without any obvious solution that I can remember reading of!

All backup tasks require that the Scheduler 2 background service is running regardless of whether they are run by schedule or manually!

I would recommend opening a Support ticket direct with Acronis Support for them to investigate this issue with you!
