How to access network from Rescue Media

Thread needs solution

I built an Acronis True Image 2020 Rescue Media using the WinRE format so I could add drivers for my Intel RST RAID controller and Intel Network Adapter.    When I boot it up, I can now see my local disk just fine.  But, I can access the network to get to my backup files on a another computer.  It lets me browse to the Network, then it shows "Entire Network," but from there, I can't see anything else on the network.  From the Command Prompt window that appears when running from the Rescue Media, I can do ipconfig and see a valid network configuration.  I can ping the other computers, routers, etc., on the network, but I can't actually browse the network.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Rick

Well, after playing around with it some more, I realized that, in the Browse box, I can start typing like \\server-name\folder-name\file-name.tibx and it will let me access the file I need to be able to recover.

I guess I was expecting the Browse button to actually let me browse the network, but that doesn't seem to work.

Rick, it is a bit odd. There are many factors contributing to the problem. Some devices have network discovery disabled, but that does not explain why there are sometimes problems with NAS (although, as you discovered, using device name in search usually overcomes that problem).
