Acronis Cyber Protect Recovery Issues

Thread needs solution

My Gripe today is with your Survival Recovery Kit.

I and I'm sure many users of this kit are frustrated when it comes to recovering a backup created by this kit in that I mean the backup goes pretty smoothly but when it comes to a recovery then it's not plain sailing.

I have been a long time user of Acronis backup apps so I know what I'm doing but last week I had the misfortune to have a system crash, I admit it might have been my fault nevertheless i went to my trusted USB backup survival disk and proceeded to restore from a known verified backup which was created last week with the latest build 40107. It started as usual and after around 15 minutes the screen showed me 1 second left, this second turned into 1 minute which turned into 15 minutes and at that point I was sure the recovery had frozen so I restarted and tried again, same thing happened with the same time showing 1 second, this showed for what seemed to be an eternity so I decided to reinstall windows which took almost a whole day which I will never get back.

So whats going on ACRONIS, Do I trust your app to do the job! or do I look for a more reliable app to replace it. At this point I DONT KNOW!

The previous Acronis True Image never had this issue, the time that was shown was pretty much accurate so what has gone wrong ACRONIS. Is it the Survival Kit or is it the amount of time left to finish thats inaccurate, It's one or the other. Something in the program is not right/

Please explain yourselves so others that come across this issue are armed with some knowlewdge and not go through what i went though or Just FIX IT.

Regards,

A very dissapointed long time customer.

Dear Heich,
Thank you for the feedback and being with us so many years. In order to answer your question, we need to know some details, like any error messages or logs. Have you tried to reach the support with this consern?

No I havn't contacted support as the recovery finally did finish but it took another 20 minutes after the "Amount Left 1 Second" to finish the recovery. There were no error messages or logs. My concern is that the count down time is not accurate and my system is pretty zippy with a super fast SSD running the system, others with slower systems will not know when the recovery will finish as a result they may think like I did that the program had frozen and cancel the recovery which in turn will corrpt the installation and make the system unbootable. The previous version of Acronis True Image Home didn't have this issue and with the countdown being fairly accurate at least on my system which hasn't changed since True Image.

Like I said, eventually the recovery did finish but I had no way of knowning when as the countdown showed me 1 Second left and then no movement or Led activity on my backup SSD for at least another 20 minutes

I have read others comments and many have the same issue. Maybe it should be looked into more thoroughly as it could become a major concern.

Regards

Heich
