Acronis Survival Kit : unable to copy the file

Thread needs solution

I use Windows 11 on a Dell XPS 15. After saving .wim on the Survival Kit, I get:

error unable to copy file.

Any solution?

Thanks,

Daniel, sorry but more information is needed?

What Acronis product / version are you using?

How are you creating the .wim file you are trying to copy?

What is the size of that .wim file?

What is the size of the Survival Kit partition?

Are you adding a second .wim file to the SK partition or replacing an existing file?

I am using Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office.

I click on Create Acronis Survival Kit.

I have no idea of the size of the .wim file.

No idea of the size of the Survival Kit Partition.

Please instruct me how do I find all these mysterious sizes file?

Thanks for your help,

Daniel

Daniel, thanks for confirming which Acronis product you are using.

By default, Acronis creates a 2GB FAT32 partition at the start of the external drive for the Survival Kit but there is a known issue where the process tries to include drivers for graphics cards detected and this can cause the size of the survival kit .wim file to be larger than 2GB.

I would suggest raising this directly with Acronis by opening a support case with them as this is something that they really need to fix, either by increasing the size of the FAT32 partition to 3 or 4GB, or else offering the user an option to exclude any large graphics driver if it would exceed the available partition size of 2GB.
