Long time to load backup content
I am trying to restore files from a .tib file.
The program seems to be stuck on "Loading backup content". The file size is about 300 Gb but it has been doing this for an hour and seems to be hung. Should it take this long to load 300 Gb ? I would appreciate any suggestions. I have attached a screen-shot of what it is doing.

Lawrence,
That looks like a full OS image and it is showing that you are doing a disk recovery... are you wanting to restore files/folders out of that? If so, navigate to the backup .tib file in Windows explorer and double click on it. It should open up and then you can copy and paste files out of it to recover that way - should be much faster.
Alternatively, you can right click the .tib file >>> acronis >>> mount as volume and give it a drive letter in Windows and then copy and paste from it. That is usually faster if you have a lot of files to retrieve manually this way.
Otherwise, if you plan to do a full disk or parition restore, you should be using your recovery media instead - it's safer and Acronis is going to reboot your system to peform the OS recovery anyway... but will modify your Windows bootloader to try and boot into Acronis Linux environment. If your bios is not configured properly, this may fail and if Acronis doesn't boot, it may not be able to set the bootolader back properly.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the .tib file would not open with either double click for right click. Acronis TIB 2015 would not find or use it even when I copied it to a HDD in the PC it came from.
I went back to a previous backup done with Windows Backup and restored the file I wanted from there. I have some manual updating to do, but my Windows Backup was reasonably recent.

BTW - I have Acronis TIB 2011 on another i7 machine. When I loaded the .tib file on that PC, I was able to open it with Windows Explorer. That saved me some typing time.

Not all version of Acronis can read older backups. IF you wre using 2015 to try and read an older backup, that may be part of the problem...

Hi Steve,
same problem here. I've split 300GB backup into several files (each one of 50GB) but I still cant make it work, both via GUI or Windows Explorer.
What do you suggest to do? Split it into smaller size files? Dont know, like 25GB or 10GB? I dont know what else to do.

- Test your disk with the Check Disk Tool to make sure it is fully functional and does not contain bad sectors or file system errors: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/chkdsk?tabs=event-viewer
- Do not perform any disk/volume operations while running other software that has low-level disk access. Close these programs before running Acronis True Image.
