I'm unable to make a backup of my system because of these errors. What ends up happening is after the backup is "complete," it starts over again. It does this in an infinite loop. I have used the Check Disk Utility on all of my drives and it didn't find any problems. Every time I run a backup, the logs tell the same story.

However, I do suspect one of my drives has an issue anyway because it occasionally disconnects while in use (it makes a weird hiss noise when this happens), and I have to unplug it and re-plug it in to get it to come back. This is why I'm using Acronis True Image in the first place, I want to make a backup of my system and put my data on a new drive.

How do I correct this issue?

Frank, not all file system issues can be resolved by using CHKDSK - this will only work on those partitions that have been allocated a drive letter but your backups include other hidden / system partitions with no drive letter.

Dedicated diagnostic utilities from the disk manufacturers take the longest time to complete the checks, but provide the most accurate methods of checking whether the disk is good or needs replacement:

 - Western Digital drives: Western Digital Dashboard

 - Seagate disks: SeaTools for Windows

 - HGST disks: HGST Windows Drive Fitness Test (WinDFT)

 - Intel SSDs: Intel Memory and Storage Tool (GUI)

 - Samsung drives: Samsung Magician

 - ADATA drives: ADATA SSD ToolBox

 - Kingston SSDs: Kingston SSD Toolbox, Kingston SSD Manager

 - Transcend SSDs: Transcend SSD Scope

 - Silicon Power disks: SP ToolBox

 - Toshiba disks: Toshiba PC Diagnostic Tool Utility

 - Crucial disks: Crucial Storage Executive

 - SanDisk disks: SanDisk SSD Dashboard tool / SanDisk SSD Dashboard user guide

Great suggestion! One of the drives has an "error 7." It pretty much means that the drive needs to be replaced. I transferred all my data from one drive to another manually via copy & paste. I'll try another backup via Acronis and see how it goes.

Hello Frank!

Could you please tell us if the issue was resolved?

Thank you in advance.
