change from hdd to sdd, cause problem?

Thread needs solution

I had my desktop hard drives changed to SDD drives.  There were errors on the hard drives which were fixed before all the hard drive was copied to the SDD drive.  The desktop has software raid.

I tried to do my usual Acronis full backup, but the external hard drive was reported as not available.  I checked everything, and the drive is healty, and showing up in the MY PC directory.

I should also add that Windows 10 was updated to 21H2 from an older version.

Do I need to create a whole new backup with the new drives and the Windows update?

Do I need to create a new Rescue Media Builder?

Any help would be appreciated.

Lynnea, at a minimum you should re-select your backup Source as the new SSD's will present a new / different unique drive identifier and cause your backup task to fail due to the original HDD's not being found!

With the Windows 10 upgrade to 21H2 you are still a year down-level unless you meant to type 22H2 which is the latest build released in Sept / Oct 2022.  The next backup after any OS upgrade will always be larger so it can be a good idea to start a new backup.

Your rescue media should be still ok as the Windows PE version will still work and the Acronis version hasn't changed.
