What is the right way to to backup my C-Drive such that I can restore it later?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I just got the trial of True Image Home 2011.

I used True Image at work over 5 years ago.. to make/restore back ups of self-contained POS' systems we were designing.

I remember being able to create a boot-disk that boots into a simplified True Image software. Using this software, I could backup/restore images. This worked great.

Now I want to do the same thing but for my Windows 7 machine.
But, I dunno how to create this boot disk that just contains the TrueImage backupper and restoration software.

How do I do the same thing in True Image 2011?

From what I understand in the current version, I use the "disk and partition backup"... but from what I understand about windows, this won't properly back up the boot sector?

Don't I need to perform a backup of my C-Drive (OS + Everything) whilst outside Windows 7??

Please update me and restore my understanding of how I can do this with your software.

Kind regards,
Vijay

Yes, do a disk and partition backup. Select all partitions shown by ATI to be safe. This backup will include the MBR, track 0, disk signature.

You don't need to do it outside windows. Some users always do it from the CD. For restore, this would be the opposite.

About the bootable media, you can create from ATI. There is a link just above of the "my backups" list, to the right.
