Applying Acronis Security Zone After Backing up Critical Data
Upon opening Acronis True Image Home 2011 for the first time, one is immediately given the option of backing up one's critical data. I did this, but now I wish to have this backup content within an Acronis Security Zone. I started the steps to create an ASZ, but the drive that has the backup on it only offers the free space on the drive (other than the section that was backed up) for use.
Does this mean I will need to erase the backup, set up the ASZ, then perform the Critical Data backup again?

Thanks.
I'm not even certain it's in my best interest to use the ASZ. I have a secondary drive in my computer that I'm saving the backups to, and my main desire is to use Acronis for disaster recovery, that is, being able to simply transfer the backup to a new drive using the bootable CD. Do you think it's worth installing a ASZ in this case? Are there any limitations I should be aware of?

Don't use the ASZ if you don't have to. ALthough it provides some clear benefits when you have only one disk, it has significant drawbacks. For example:
- you cannot copy your backups somewhere else (backup of the backup),
- complex naming schemes (like using tags) don't work well with 2011,
- dependency on the ATI installation to manage it.
