Exceed Cloud space disables account login with error 500

Thread needs solution

Hello

Accidentially I've exceeded the cloud space because the backup became bigger.

But then the system prevented me to cleanup the situation because my login became blocked by an error 500. So I had no possibility to delete backup data anymore.

So I've shutdown my PC and later on I'd started a different PC and then my login worked again and I could clean up my Acronis cloud space by deleting all backups. So I've to resize source and backup them again. No problem with that.

Please make such a situation much more user friendly. Giving an error message when cloud space has been exceeded is fine. But blocking the login by an error 500 is just an ugly bug and indicates a wrong or missing exception handling. Please fix that.

Thank you and kind regards,

Andreas

Hello Andreas.

Thank you for the feedback. We will take your opinion in consideration!

It's always a good practice to regularly check the storage space usage and make sure that it doesn't exceed the available quota. You can also consider backing up only essential data and deleting unnecessary backups to optimize the storage usage.

Lastly, if you encounter a similar issue in the future, you can try clearing the browser cache, cookies, and temporary files, or using a different browser to access the Acronis cloud service.

That behavior in fact isn't expected so feel free to contact our support anytime you face it, that will be the best to investigate the issue https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks.
