Acronis True Image 2021 incredibly slow

Thread needs solution

I've noticed that my backups lately have become incredibly slow.

The transfer rate to my Synology NAS drive is now less than 1 MB/s

What's more annoying than ANYTHING is that when I click on the Support link on the Acronis website it says my product is NOT SUPPORTED! It's only 2023. How can that be?

What has happened to Acronis?

If I copy files manually by opening a folder on my NAS drive and dragging from a folder on my hard drive then it maxes out the network at 100MB/second as one would expect on a Gigabit network. The same is true in both directions.

But this backup software just crawls.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

After using Acronis products since 2012 I am really very annoyed at the lack of willingness to offer support for their products.

Hello David.

From your account the license you purchased doesn't have active support ( it's expired ). Please check this FAQ regarding the licenses: https://kb.acronis.com/content/69390.

Regarding the performance issues, they can be related with your environment or with our agent, troubleshooting it's needed to make conclusions:

Please check the following:

  1. Network or Connectivity Issues: Slow transfer speeds could be caused by problems with your network or internet connectivity, including issues with your router, modem, switches, or cabling. You should check to make sure that all connections are secure and functioning properly.

  2. System Performance: Slow transfer rates can also be caused by insufficient system resources, such as CPU, memory, or disk space. You should check your computer's performance and make sure that you have enough resources available to run the agent and transfer files.

  3. Software Configuration: Your transfer speeds may be impacted by the configuration settings of the backup plan, including the transfer protocol, encryption settings, compression, validation and other features. You should review these settings to ensure that they are optimized for your network and hardware setup.

  4. File Size and Type: The size and type of the files being transferred can also impact transfer rates. Large files or certain file types may take longer to transfer than others.

  5. Check the disks and try to identify if there are any issues or bad blocks.

I advise you to check also the following KB and perform all the troubleshooting steps: https://kb.acronis.com/content/46770

Thanks in advance!
