“snapman.sys related to Acronis backup”.. caused server reboot

Thread needs solution

Dear Team,

Recently we have installed Acronis 12.5 in Windows Server 2016.

We have added 4 client PC's to this console.

Post installation server is rebooted frequently. Our Windows team informed us server is rebooted due to “snapman.sys related to Acronis backup”.. caused server reboot.

Could you please help me how resolve this issue.

Thank you,

Kiran P

Hello Kiran,

Welcome to the forum!

Issues with the OS crash should be investigated. It's not possible to determine the cause without logs and understanding the entire situation.

These KB articles should be followed:

  • https://kb.acronis.com/content/61650 (Follow the suggestion in this KB and check the event viewer to confirm what caused the crash)

  • Ensure that the machine has sufficient RAM, as it is often the root cause of such issues. Overloading can lead to crashes.

  • Reschedule the backups. Create individual backup plans for each device and schedule them for different hours.

  • Add our services/folders as exceptions in your antivirus software.

If the issue persists, please contact our support with the crash dumps and system report so that we can troubleshoot the problem: https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks in advance!
