Have the option to start if backup storage is available work for local drives not just the cloud

Thread needs solution

We have been taking on a number of clients recently who have been previously setup with rotating disks for their backups.

We want to be able to continue this practice to give a geographically nearby offsite backup as well as a cloud backup.

We have found 3 ways to achieve a backup over multiple disks each with drawbacks:
1) Create a full backup everytime. This consumes a lot of disk space and is just unnecessary
2) Create a task schedule on the server with the logic to run a protection plan based on which disk is plugged in. This is messy and can get complicated quickly as backups jobs are then managed in more than 1 place and we're wanting Acronis Portal to be our 1 place for managing backups
3) Use the pre-plan commands to check for the file and then either run the job or fail it. The problem with this is a ticket gets made every time meaning 2 times an hour for some of hourly incremental jobs

We did notice for cloud backups there is an option to only run if the backup host is available, can this be made available for backups that are to a local disk as well as to cloud?

Thanks!

Hello George.

Could you please provide more details about the product? Is this related to what product? Acronis Cyber Protect with Acronis Cyber Infraestructure?

Because if you mean regular local backups as a disk/NAS and so on at the moment there isn't any option. The client should check their on-premise hardware and connections. If the storage is unavailable the backups will simply fail.

Thanks in advance!
