Boot media backups stop prior to Validating

Thread solved

After completing backup (step 2) window appears "operation successful" (or completed  I don't remember which) It does FLASH for a fraction of a second "validating Image" but then shows the "operation successful" without completing step 3 to validate image.  No menu selection lists "validate image". I believe it USED TO validate the image I'm guessing a Windows 11 update might have changed the OS. and now there's a problem. I previously "locked" the flash drives when they operated perfectly so I wouldn't have problems in the future. In the file .................

C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts  there is only one file. In that file the only time VSS appears is      snapshot_mode="vss"  I can no longer tell if my backups are valid or not. Please help. Thank you

Hello Andrew!

Please try the following:

  1. Reinstall Acronis True Image: If updating the software doesn't resolve the issue, consider reinstalling Acronis True Image 2017. This process can help repair any potential software corruption or conflicts that might be causing the problem.

  2. Check for Windows updates: Verify that your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. In some cases, compatibility issues between Acronis True Image and the operating system can be resolved by updating Windows

Thanks in advance!

Windows 11 up to date. Previous post by other member was told by MVP member "Steve Smith" that the problem was with ATI using Windows "Shadow Copy" therefore put "VSS=False" but that particular line doesn't appear in my file instead it says Snapshot_mode="VSS" so I don't know how to turn off Win 11 "Shadow Copy" ONLY for ATI.

Thanks

Andrew, your topic title is "Boot media backups stop prior to Validating" but your comments suggest you are not talking about boot media with the reference to script file contents?

There is a known issue with validation coupled with backup when using boot media that I recall in the forums a while back but I don't believe there was any resolution for it.

Validation with the Windows Acronis application should work without issues.

Thanks Steve. I stumbled across a way to validate my backups created with the boot media by opening up ATI in Windows 11.

YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER in this forum.

Thanks again,

Andrew
