Remove Acronis TrueImage 2021 Advertisements
I'm looking to determine how to remove the Acronis TrueImage 2021 advertisements from showing up on my organization's PCs. This is causing confusion for some of our users, and I'd like to prevent them from showing up.

Hello Matt,
sorry for the delayed response! I've sent your request to the marking team who are in charge of the in-product pop-ups. Will update the thread once they reply.

I have 11 such icons in my system tray (see attached) so please explain how to stop those too.

Seems like I bought a product that just turned into a marketing platform for Acronis. Definitely going to be an important factor for future purchases in this category.
Why is this a big deal? I support a number of non-profit organizations, where I chose Acronis to perform their system backups. These non-tech savvy users have no idea what to do here, so I get emails when these show up. Many jumped to the conclusion that their PCs were compromised.
These types of marketing messages are intrusive and do more harm than good, in my opinion. You should be emailing the registration owners, not spamming individual PCs.

Hello Matt,
my colleagues confirmed the in-product notifications have been disabled for your account. Users should be signed in in the product for this exclusion to work.

Hello Tilden,
did you click on the icons? What messages do they show?

Nothing happens when I click on them. When I mouseover them, the message "Look what's just been released." is displayed. There are now 15 of them.

Do the icons survive a Windows restart? If not, when the first one reappears, take the option in the promotion panel for ATI 2021 to 'Don't show this again!' which is all I have needed to do.

I was able to delete them after a reboot. Thank you for the suggestion.

I would also like the ads removed from my account. I don't see an option anywhere for them. There needs to be an option to disable all promotional notifications, just as there are with marketing emails. I am using this backup system as a trial run for a well-known university and there is likely to be a significant push-back as a result of the inability to disable ads for an otherwise very good system.

Daniel, welcome to these public User Forums.
Check in the ATI 2021 Settings page for if you have the option for personalised offers ticked?
If this isn't selected and you still get ads shown, then send a PM to the forum moderator Ekaterina who can get your account updated to stop these!

There is no such setting in the 2020 version, and we will not be upgrading to 2021 until Q2. It is unlikely we will ever upgrade or continue with the software unless there is a way to ensure that our users will not be receiving this kind of notification.

Daniel, please send a PM to Ekaterina who should be able to get your account flagged not to receive these notifications.

Hello Daniel, I see you have an open ticket regarding this issue, do you still need help with turning off the promo pop-ups?

I have an open ticket still so that if they reappear, support will intervene. I was told the changes to my account have already been made so that the advertisements won't appear. I'm just waiting to see if they do.

Please I need the in-product notifications been disabled in mine account as well. I have paid for a backup software not for a marketing platform for Acronis... Its really annoying.

Ekaterina, please have my email address removed from all these Marketing pop-up promotions! I already have licenses for ATI 2021 but keep some older versions for the whole purpose of testing and helping out in these forums. It is getting really annoying for me and all the other users here to be bombarded with daily promotions to buy ATI 2021.
These promotional messages should be Opt In not have to be opted out via these forums!
I have the option to receive Personalised offers deselected in the ATI 2021 Settings page so this should be respected and applied to my whole Acronis Account regardless of where it is used! I suspect that Acronis are in contravention of the European GDPR rules by sending these unsolicited promotion pop-ups!

Please remove my account from these annoying ads. With 3 computers in front of me, it is VERY annoying to say the least.
Thank you

I have the same issue, I never opt-in to see advertisements in a product that I bought. Shame on the people responsible for this.
So why is there no option to disable the ads? Will there be an Update to Acronis 2020 to stop those?
You should also refrain from calling it "in-app advertisement", since the ads are shown as popups on the desktop at startup/login, not inside the app.
You could call it "in-app" advertisement, when popups are shown only, when the user opens the Acronis UI. Currently it is just annoying spam, and hopefully you'll loose the appropriate amount of customers and then fire the people responsible for the betrail of customer trust.

Are you kidding me? I have to beg on a forum to remove ads from a product I PAID FOR and have renewed several times previously? I will NOT be renewing again nor recommending your product to anyone ever again. It's ridiculous. Never got this on my previous computer, but recently upgraded my PC and reinstalled Acronis and now have been spammed with the same ad popup 8 times since I installed (which was just a couple days ago).
Remove me from your marketing spams on my desktop. And once I restore my files, I will be cancelling my account.
Whoever made this boneheaded decision could only be a marketer. And they should never be allowed to make another decision, ever again.

Dear Barret ,
sorry to know about this frustrating experience! Passed your feedback to the marketing team and asked to remove your account from the promo campaigns.

WOW, YEARS later and they are still doing this! I will NOT renew Acronis after my current subscription! Ads in a paid product wtf. and its not like they are unobtrusive. 10 icons in my tray that I cannot remove without clicking each one. Poor programming! should I trust this system anymore if this is the level of programmers you have at acronis :(

Dear Marc Reid,
Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear those pop-ups bring you inconvenience.
We just want to make sure our customers don't miss a good offer. We have forwarded your feedback to the marketing team. Please pay attention that every pop-up is showing just once during the promo campaign. When you close it, it won't re-appear.

I can't believe Acronis is still doing this. Not only that, but there IS NO OPTION in the settings to remove or prevent the spam messages from popping up in True-Image 2020. I paid good money for this software and am getting constantly interrupted by marketing spam I did not opt into.
Just an FYI, it is illegal in Canada to automatically opt in customers to marketing materials. It is also a violation to not have an accessible option to disable any marketing spam.
While I doubt it will go anywhere, I've filed a complaint in accordance to the Canadian Governments Anti-Spam Legislation.
Acronis marketing and leadership can review the CASL by googling 'S.C. 2010, c. 23' and reviewing the legislation on the governments website. This will give them an understanding of the requirements and penalties for violations. And yes, it applies to non-Canadian corporations that are sending unsolicited commercial marketing to electronic devices located in Canada.
Meanwhile, I will not be recommending, renewing, updating, or adding additional Acronis services or software.

Thank you for commenting.
In fact you can disable the offer checking the box, please refer to this KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/57373
I've forwarded your comments to the corresponding team and we appreciate and value your opinion.
Thanks in advance.

I am constantly receiving "limited time upgrade offer" popup and am not able to disable it. I'm using Acronis true image 2021 and am NOT interested in "Acronis Cyber Protection ..." regardless of its price.
In this forum Acronis's position is summarized with; "Thanks for your feedback. We will pass the message to the team. Feel free to participate in the forum anytime you need."
I will be replacing Acrons with another backup solution. Previously I enjoyed having Acronis but no more.

Hello MAP. Acronis Cyber Protection Home office is the newest version of Acronis True Image. If you aren't interested in the offer you can disable it clicking on the exit button in the top right corner with the letter X.
Thanks in advance!

Hello. I am also getting "limited time upgrade offer" popups on a number of our company machines and am not able to disable them.
Clicking on the exit button does not stop them. There is no optout option in the popup or the learn more screen. Can you please make these stop?
Thanks!

Hello,
I also get those notifications every day. It is very annoying. Can you add my account to exlusion?
Additionally I want to say that I will never buy your subscription based software. I am only interested in lifetime license.

Hello!
This thread is old and it's not possible at the moment it's not possible to exclude the pop-ups from the product itself. When there is a promotion, the pop-up appears. I understand this may be frustrating, and the team is informed about the situation. Hopefully in the future this will be improved. For now, what you can do is simply exit the pop-up in the top right corner.
Thanks in advance!
