TI gets stuck on the splash screen
I have TI 2018 and when I now try to open the programme, it gets stuck on the splash screen where it says "applying user settings".
I found an old post where someone had the same problem but when I found the .TIB file for yesterday's date. I couldn't move it or do anything with it.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve.
I'm not even sure where to start with a Repair Install. I've had 2018 for so long I'm not even sure how I installed it. I'll look through my PC bits to see what discs I can find.

Mike, you can download the latest / final build version of ATI 2018 from your Acronis Account page to use for doing a Repair Install - you just launch the installer and take the Repair option from the menu shown. You need the latest build in case of needing to reactivate the software due to changes in security at the Acronis servers.

Thanks Steve, I downloaded the latest build version 15560 and clicked on the Repair button but the programme is still getting stuck at the Applying User Images stage.

Hello Mike!
If you are using a local A.Virus make sure it's not blocking the services: https://kb.acronis.com/content/36429
Restart the Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Restart your computer and try opening Acronis True Image again.
Run as Administrator: Right-click on the Acronis True Image shortcut and select "Run as administrator." This can help ensure that the program has the necessary permissions.
If the issue persists, try uninstalling Acronis True Image 2018 and then reinstalling it. Make sure to download the latest version from the official website.
Best regards.

Thanks for the help Jose. If I do the Reinstall, what is the best way to uninstall the programme please?

Go to the Windows Control Panel and use the normal Programs & Features option to do the initial uninstall which should remove the majority of components.
You can also download the Acronis Clean up tool (link in my signature) which can ensure all further residue is removed, after which you should restart Windows.
Note: the Clean up tool documentation suggests to go into the Registry and remove items but I would recommend not doing so, especially if you are not confident in touching the registry and intend reinstalling again later.
You will need to re-activate ATI 2018 after reinstalling so make sure you have your license serial available to enter, and if this was an Upgrade license, the serial for an earlier full version of ATI.

Thanks everyone for all the help, really appreciated. I'll get the uninstall/reinstall done and see how that goes.

I uninstalled TI and reinstalled it through my Acronis account and all seems to have worked fine. Thanks for all the help.
Steve mentioned "You will need to re-activate ATI 2018 after reinstalling so make sure you have your license serial available to enter". Do I still need to do this having reinstalled through my Acronis account?
I was not asked for my license serial number at all during the reinstalling.

Mike, if you activated 2018 using your Acronis Account then it should have picked up your valid license details for you.

Brilliant. Thanks again for all the help Steve. I have another TI2018 question but I'll open a new thread for that one.
