Acronis 4091 not recognising USB when using Rescue Builder

Thread solved

Hi,

I am running the latest ACPH version 4091, and when I try and use the Rescue Builder and I select USB as the media destination it appears Acronis doesn't recognise a USB being plugged in.

Windows and other application can see the USB drive so I know its not a problem wit the drive.

Do I know need to select the INF file for the USB Hub? this has worked on older versions of ACPH.

Thanks, Martyn

Hello Martyn!

I have reviewed the list of cases, and I don't have any mentions of issues with USB detection in the latest build.

Have you tried downloading the B.media directly and burning it with Rufus, for example, on the USB to see if that works? You can find more information here: https://kb.acronis.com/content/4828

Have you tried with another USB? Because sometimes, even if detected by Windows, some USBs may be faulty.

The INF may work or may not; that depends on the situation, but you could give it a try. If you have tested all those scenarios, I advise you to raise a ticket at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153.

Thanks.

Hi Jose,

It looks like I needed to download Windows ADK and the Windows PE add-on for the Windows ADK, once this was installed I rebooted my machine and now the Builder allows me to chose USB.

This is fine for someone like me, but I don't believe it will be obvious for others.

Thanks,

Martyn

This is why I usually advise the use of the simple version which uses Win RE. When I comes to Win PE I prefer to use the MVP tool to create the recovery media.
