Error Code -

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone. I found there was an unallocated space, so i was trying to merge it into Disk C which I installed Windows 7 in.
This operation required a reboot. But it showed three error messages.

Code: 9,764,877(0x95000D)
Module: F:\Acronis\mmsBundle.dll
Message: Failed to perform the requested operation.

Code: 9,764,922(0x95003A)
Message: Cannot activate reboot agent.

Code: 3,539,051(0x36006B)
Message: The requested operation requires machine restart.

I have turned off my firewall, tried to use Administrator mode. I even re-installed Acronis.
This is still happening.
Anyone knows the reason.
Thank you very much.
p.s I attached a screenshot with my operations.

Then I thought it might because the operations were too "related" to the operating system.
Then I tried to merge my J into F.
I got the same error

In my opinion, it's not worth the risk of a Merge to get 200MB of space (I avoid Merge/Split). It's generally much safer to Resize the partition to use the unallocated space. Does it work to do this?

Note that it's strongly recommended to create an Entire Disk Image backup before making partitioning changes. It can be very helpful if something goes wrong.

Are you using the latest build of DD 11?

Does it work if you boot to the DD CD instead of using DD in Windows?

Thanks for your reply.

It is not worth to merge 200mb and put my data at risk indeed. But the problem is that all operations required a restart will NOT work. As you can notice, my system disk only has 4gb left, my plan is to shrink F disk (logical) in order to get 20gb free space, and convert the free space into a primary disk. And then merge this 20gb disk into my C disk. This operation also requires a reboot. I am not sure if you have a better plan. I look forward to your answer.

I just bought the DD11 Home from the website and installed it yesterday, so I think that is the latest version. How can I boot to the CD, I don't have a CD actually. :(

Thanks again.

You can create the CD using DD or you can download the ISO file from your Acronis account and burn it to a CD (Windows 7 will burn ISO files directly).

It's possible some other program installed is blocking access to the drive and causing problems. Do you have any encryption or anti-virus software installed? You could also check the BIOS for an option to "protect" the MBR and/or drive.

Is TI installed? Some versions of TI don't work well with DD 11 (pre-2010 versions, especially).
