Backup CD Issue
I'm in the process of upgrading from 11105 to 11133 so I decided to do a backup uning the recovery CD.
I built the image and burned it to CD.
I then successfully did a backup and validation.
The problem I have is a previous backup while booted in WinXP SP2 created a backup tib file with a sizer of 70GB. The backup using the Recovery CD created a backup tib file size of 120GB.
The HDD size is 150GB, the used space is 95GB. WHy is the backup using the recovery CD bigger than the used space on the drive when a backup using Acronis when boots into the OS is smaller?
I used normal compression on both backups.
This is making me question the integrity of the backup.
Is this normal or is it an issue with Acronis v10 because the previous version didn;t have this problem?
Thanks,
Ben

Oleg,
The report is attached.
When I did the backup I did a full backup.
I created a new CD using build 11133 and then did another backup. This time the backup created an image file of approximately 66GB. I also did a backup using the CD image from the website and it made an image of the same size (66GB).
I backed up to the same hard drive each time which is a 1TB external drive connected via E-SATA.
I don't know why it is now working correctly but it is.
Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben,
Thank you for your response.
Acronis report doesn't reveal any errors, and I can't find the exact reason of the previous abnormal behavior. It looks like a glitch. Anyway, the program works as expected for now.
Thank you.
