No network with boot disk

Thread needs solution

Hi:

I just got a Dell E6520 and was attempting to image it via the boot disc (TIH 2011, Build 6696 from Feb 2011) and I can't get to my file server from the boot disc.

There's no "computers near me" option - only FTP (which I haven't tried as I don't currently have an ftp server setup).

Any help would be appreciated.

Kadiir,

This is a linux driver problem. You need to file a support tickert.

Hello Kadiir and Pat!

Thank you for your comments! Pat, thanks a lot for help.

Kadiir, in case the period of free support is over, you can purchase PPI and contact our support team directly.

Before opening the support request I would suggest you to download the latest updated bootable media in ISO format from your account, burn it onto the CD, and check whether the issue remains.

Usually it helps to solve the problem. Should it remain, please gather Acronis Linux Report from the bootable media, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

As I indicated, I downloaded the latest version.

Also, it seems pretty silly for me to have to pay for a fix when anyone who purchases these latest Dell Sandy Bridge laptops will need an update (i.e, this fix isn't unique to me). Either fix it for everyone or come out with a new pay version (e.g., 2011.5 or 14.5 or whatever you want to call it).

Hello kadiir,

Thank you for your reply.

If the issue is indeed related to a product issue then we refund the PPI. Please check Yana's thread for additional information.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
