can not boot - snapman.sys BSOD

The graphics chip in my old laptop (XP SP3) stopped working, and I was able to extract the harddrive and was trying to boot the old system from a USB enclosure connected to other computers. I was expecting problems due to different graphics drivers and windows licensing, but what happens is an immediate BSOD related to snapman.sys. I am not even able to boot to safe mode with command line. Google suggested that snapman.sys is part of Acronis True Image, which I had installed on the old system for backups - so I have come here for help and suggestions.

Even if you get around the snapman problem, XP will still not boot into Windows from a USB drive. Microsoft has designed it to be unable to boot and run from USB (it can be tweaked to do so, though).

My initial plan was to run it as a Virtual PC inside of Win7, but have not been able to do that either. I had no idea that XP had a limitation to be booted from external drive. I guess I will have to deal with this one step at a time.

What problem did you have when you tried it in VPC? Did you use Universal Restore on it?

What version of TI was installed on the old system?

If TI was installed properly and was booting properly, I wouldn't think there would be a problem with its driver when booting on a different system. Are you sure the BSOD is being caused by snapman?
