Unable to install TrueImage

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've been trying to install TrueImage Home for the past few days on a Windows XP 64 machine.

The install fails at the very end and "rolls back".

I followed various other advice and deleted temporary files, removed startup programs using msconfig and attempted to run the install as a different admin user.

I've now executed the install manually and have attached the log file produced along with a "sysinfo" export.

Please help!

Thanks,

Martyn

Posting solution here for others that may have similar issue:

Looking at the MSI logs indicated that the install was failing trying to install the snapapi driver.

I tried various fixes from the KB and forums, but nothing appeared to work.

Eventually I found a further log file in c:\windows called setupapi.log, looking in there hinted at the snapapi driver being "unsigned".

Since this is an XP 64 install, attempts to install unsigned drivers result in a prompt to the user, but I guess that the snapapi driver install is "silent" and therefore no prompt is offered.

The solution was to turn off the requirement for driver signing in control panel / system / hardware / driver signing.

Hope this helps others.
