Failure to read

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image 9.0, Build 2,259. It will make a manually started full backup just fine with no read errors.
But it cannot do a scheduled incremental or differential backup without stopping with a read error.
I have searched the support section and cannot find a download that refers to this version.
Can anyone offer a solution?

What OS is it running on?

Has it ever been able to make a scheduled image?

Are these files and folders or disk images that yopu are trying to make?

Have you at any stage disabled RPC server in Services.msc?

In Windows Task Manager, is scheduler or scheduler2 running?

Are there any entries in Services.msc for scheduler2 and is it set to automatic and running?

The OS is XP-Pro, SP2. It has never made a scheduled backup. I manually made a disk image of drive C, but the scheduled incrementals and differentials failed.
In Services, Remote Procedure Call is started, type automatic. RPC Locator is not started, type is manual. (I see nothing called RPC Server)
In Task Manager schedul2.exe is running.
In Services.msc there is no listing for schedul2. It does show Task Scheduler started, set to automatic.
I hope that gives you some clues. I appreciate your trying to help.

If you are using the English retail version of the software, my registration page shows a version 9, build 3854 as the latest which was Dec 2006.

Do you have your registered and what is offered from your registration page?
