DD10 Not working on Vista Home Premium 64

Thread needs solution

Attempted to create a 200 gb partition with the wizard and the PC crashed before I could commit the partition. It took several reboots and a few hours to bring the PC back up. The new partition wasn't there but my c:\ drive shrank by 200 gb.

This evening I attempted to create another partition of 100 gb and made it all the way through the wizard. The partition was committed, I rebooted, and the new partition is nowhere to be found. Fortunately, I didn't lose another 100 gb from the c:\ drive this time. I'm attaching the report.txt file in case that helps.

I'm still in the warranty return period and seriously considering exercising it.

Thanks for any assist.

If you're trying to do the changes when running DD in Vista, try booting to the DD CD. If the Full Mode version doesn't work, try the Safe Mode version. You can also try using the downloaded ISO version (it may contain more updated drivers).

It's highly recommended to have a current Entire Disk Image backup of the drive prior to making any partitioning changes (regardless of the partitioning software used).

I appreciate the advice, but any software requiring this much troubleshooting isn't worth the effort. I'm still in the refund period and will go that route.
