Why do I get the pink "Backup is Corrupted" message and then the backup is completed normally?
I get a disconcerting pink message (see screenshot attached) that says the Backup is Corrupted. Then Home 2011 proceeds to complete the backup and the pink changes to the green message "Backup has successfully completed." I have the latest update. Does everyone see this message? There has to be something fishy as I don't believe the backup is corrupted.
thanks,
Stan

Stanford,
Just ignore the pink or green banners in the UI. They are out of sync. That is an ATI bug. Just like MudCrab suggested, the truth is in the log.

THanks. I am using the latest build. The problem is more than the pink and green as sometimes it seems to take forever and no horizontal bar is appearing, and the line is pink (corrupted message). I have canceled the backup and restarted and the restart then works fairly promptly, and, on completion, the banner is green (finally). However, when I then looked at the log, there was no hint of an error, and I wonder if I had just waited a little longer, then something good might have happened. I have let the thing run for a couple of hours, no green horizontal bar appears, the pink banner shows, and a cancel and rerun, gets the process moving again. This sometimes creates an extra backup, so that is irritating as it fills the HD unnecessarily.
I see trouble every time the program wants to do a backup (I schedule it for once a week). It is hardly something that runs itself as I cannot trust it to be error free. This version is better from previous versions in that the setup is a bit clearer, but Acronis still has not made this a pleasurable and carefree experience, in my view.

With ATI 2011, if you launch the main UI from the system tray icon right after a backup has started, ATI is telling you that it is calculating the remaining time, and you will not see the green bar, but it is backing up.
If you cancel and restart from the main UI, then it is normal.

Hmm. I launch via the scheduler once a week. Normally, I see an icon with a nice streaming superimposed, and I know all is working. That did not happen the last time the scheduler triggered the program and, as you say, the pink banner showed indicating a corrupted backup and no green bar was proceeding to run. This is the state that seemed to go on for hours, although the log did not reveal an error. That is when I canceled the backup and started it manually. The green bar started to fill, the banner remained pink, but the job did complete and the pink banner changed to green and indicated a successful backup.
I would call this a bug and something that Acronis needs to fix. It is disconcerting and takes me out of the comfort zone. Certainly, it should not show the user a pink banner indicating the backup was corrupted, when it was the same backup that was completed the previous time and was indicated by the program to be good.
If you are an Acronis engineer, please pass this on. If you are a helpful civilian, maybe you know how to pass it on to Acronis.
Thanks for you input.
