Acronis TIH 2011 does not detect new Intel Lewisville network adapter

Thread needs solution

I am using the latest TIH (w Plus Pack) boot media (build 6696) on a new Lenovo Thinkpad W520 laptop. These have the Intel "Lewisville" nic chipset, 82579LM.

The boot media does not detect the on-board network adapter.

Is there any idea when the boot media image will be updated to include this new Intel network adapter? Please consider this a feature request if this is not already on the list of new driver additions. (This will affect many new computers released in 2011 with the new Intel chipsets).

Thank you.

+1 for this

I have just tried the 10.0.12708 build of acronis and I can confirm

that this necessary driver is still not included , so the bootable media wont work

Machine used: Dell E6420 Laptop

Please Acronis support , get this driver added to the media

Have a nice day

Hello AceyMan and Anlashok,

Thank you for your comments, and for reporting about the issue, I will be glad to help you.

According to the information provided with the latest build to support, the drivers for these computers are added to the product and it's bootable media, so the situation requires investigation. But before we proceed with obtaining the diagnostic information, I would like to offer you a workaround: download it's latest updated version in ISO format from your account, then burn it onto the CD and check, whether the issue remain.

Should it be present, please gather Acronis Linux Report from the bootable CD, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.

Please also note that in case of emergency we advise to contact Acronis Support directly, as Forum is not a support channel, but a Community.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W520, and downloaded the latest bootable .ISO version of Backup and Recovery (build 10.0.13544). However it does not recognize the ethernet port.

Will this be added in the future, or is there a workaround?

Thanks.

Hello Louis,

Thank you for posting and welcome to our forum. I will do my best to help you with this issue.

At the moment there is no workaround and I did not find an issue with this specific hardware in our system.

I would really appreciate if you could get in touch with our Support team directly with the report collected from our bootable media.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

Update: I created the very latest boot CD for Acronis True Image Home 2011 with Plus Pack, build 6857, released 2011 Jun 01.

This image still cannot detect/install the NIC adapters for the Intel 82579LM chipset on a new Lenovo W520 Thinkpad (Sandy Bridge chipset).

(FYI, I built a WinPE boot CD with Acronis TIH 2011 and slipstreamed the right drivers in using the Windows 7 AIK (automated installation kit). This was very time consuming but it worked .. until now -- for some reason the TIH on this disc won't see the network shares, even though the NIC driver is loaded (I can ping AOK). Odd. I really need the boot CD to work!
