Acronis Rescue Media - no eth0 with latest build

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Acronis Rescue Media build 5519 works correctly, it recognise my network card, but the build 6696 shows 'no eth0 '.

Is it possible to put back the driver to the next update?

Perhaps contact support and have them create a custom CD with the proper drivers-especially if your in your service coverage period.

Thanks, but this workaround is not too fair. I have to ask the support to create a special cd for me after each update. It worked and they just delete the driver, why? There is a lot of space on the cd.

I think this is a bug, please let me know what information do you need to find the solution.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting and thank you very much for posting Grover.

Peter, let me provide you with additional assistance please.

This is a strange issue because we never remove drivers from our bootable media.

Would you be kind enough to perform the following steps so that we may understand why this problem occurs:

Could you collect this report from build 5519 and then from 6696. We will study them and get back to you with the results.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

Hello Peter,

Thank you very much for your reply and taking the time to create Acronis system reports from both bootable media.

I have taken a look at them and it seems that the latest version does not detect your network card.

Is it possible for you to use build 5519 for now as a temporary workaround until we get this issue resolved?

I will be forwarding your reports to our Development team and if you don't mind, could you send me a Windows System Information file from your computer so that we can have a better picture of your network card.

If you need additional help please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello Peter,

I have an update from our Development team.

They have studied the diagnostic info and it appears that this issue is caused by an IRQ conflict. Could you do the following please:

1. Boot from the latest build of our bootable media. (6868)

2. In the selection list (Acronis, Windows etc.) press F11. In the prompt delete the word quiet and type this command: acpi=off noapic

3. Press OK and select Acronis True Image 2011 Home. At some point you will get a # prompt, type this command to launch the GUI: bin/product

4. Please let me know if your NIC is detected or not and without closing the bootable media window please generate another system report and send it to me.

Thank you.
