Clone Disk takes too long to process source disk

Thread needs solution

Hey.
Just got new True Image Home 2011 and trying to clone 750 Gb HDD to 1.5 Tb HDD.
I've ran Clone disk wizard and took 2nd stage that is Source disk (750 Gb) processing. For now it shows 'Processing' for a an hour already.
Just wonder how long could it take and when I have to start to concern about it. Thanks.

Hi there,

Did you do an all-partition disk and partition backup before you started your clone? This is highly recommended in case your process fails.
It is also way better to clone from the recovery medium.

If you did a backup, you should simply restore the backup on your new disk. This is much less risky than a clone and probably faster.

For the time being, you have no other option than waiting and waiting. If nothing changes in a couple of hours, try to cancel the task. Be patient. The last resort is to kill the process (if you started from Windows), or shutdown the computer (if you are using the disk).

rxu,

There was a recent posting of the forum where the clone process was cancelled and the results was loss of both disks.

Let the backup run until you get a success or failure message--even if overnight.

What Windows operating system?

Is the clone task being run from within Windows or when booted from the recommended Rescue CD?

I use Windows 7 U. The problem was solved by simply restart the application somehow, thanks 2 all for the help :)
