ATI 2011 - Windows 7 64 bit - crashes with External Hard Drive with encrypted sector

Whenever I plug in my external hard drive (which has a Drivecrypt encrypted sector) the program hangs and I get the 'Not Responding' message. I have installed ATI 2011 on a virtual machine running XP and it is fine with the external drive.

It seems to me that the software is buggy when it comes to Windows 7 64 bit.

Has anybody any suggestions?
