restoring an image backup and maintaining the letter "C" for system hard drive

Thread needs solution

I've always cloned hard drives and stowed them as an immediate way of restoring my hard drive if it crashes. This system works great but is cumbersome if you have multiple computers that you're cloning. If I just created an image backup and then later restored it to a clean hard drive would this system hard drive be labeled "C" (assuming it was the only drive in the computer?)

Yes, the system would assign Drive Letter C assuming that the new disk is the only disk on the system.

Be aware that the other computers need to have the same hardware combination. If they do not, then you may need additional software (like universal restore) to accomplish your task. I have the prior versions of TI Home and not familiar with the new 2010. Once you respond, hopefully someone from support will answer as to what you need for multiple computers.

You will also get your best results from
A. Booting from the TI Rescue CD and
B. placing the target disk in its intended boot position and restoring from another alternate location. This is especially true if the new computer are laptops.
