Bootable media will not boot on Sony Vaio with hardware RAID.

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis True Image Home 2011 (Trial version) to create a bootable medium. However, when I use this medium to boot my computer (a Sony Vaio VGN-AR41S with two hard drives in a hardware RAID0 configuration using the Intel ICH8M-E Series SATA RAID Controller) the following boot-up error occurs:

RAID set "isw_dijgjehgii_Volume0" was activated.
The dynamic shared library "libdmraid-events-isw.so" could not be loaded.

Acronis' website states that True Image Home 2011 supports hardware RAID, yet I assume that the reason for the error is related to the fact that the hard drives on my computer are in a hardware RAID configuration.

Is there a work-around to this problem?

You have some options:
- contact Acronis support, or
- create a BartPE-based recovery medium (you will need XP installations files), or
- purchase the Plus Pack and create a WinPE-based recovery medium.
